The ATA-NC Youth Group empowers our high school students to connect with the public through a range of volunteering and community service activities, while also offering opportunities for socializing and developing leadership skills. "Atatürk first set foot in Samsun as an official, but once he stepped off that ship, he became a civil society leader."
Turkish-American youth are leading the way to stand up for the causes they care about 🚀 The American Turkish Association of North Carolina (@atanc.usa) Youth Group gathered for their annual #19Mayıs Youth Day Picnic and proudly presented a $3,000 donation to @konusmamizgerekdernegi through BTF, supporting menstrual health equality in Türkiye.
During the event, they were reminded of the historical significance of May 19, remembering Atatürk’s arrival in Samsun in 1919 as a civic leader who went on to shape Türkiye’s modern, secular, and democratic future. Today, these young volunteers continue that legacy - standing up for the causes they care about with the same spirit of civic engagement.
