About the Event:

Dear ATA-NC Members and Friends,

You won’t want to miss the talk by Levent Atıcı titled Stones, Animals, and the First Temples at Göbekli Tepe, on Saturday, October 17, at 7:00 PM at ATA-NC Turkish House in Cary.

Dr. Atıcı will talk about the architectural marvels and intricate animal reliefs of Göbekli Tepe. He will discuss how recent revolutionary archaeological findings challenge our classical understanding of the Neolithic Revolution, the roots of agriculture, and examine how human-animal relationships evolved through time from hunting to herding to complex livestock management.

Join us and discover how ritual, ideology and social complexity, rather than just food scarcity, may have sparked humanity's first major revolution.

Please note, the talk will be in English.
