Emergency Community Meeting: The Future of Turkish House

Dear ATA-NC Members and Friends,

We are reaching out because we are facing an important moment for the future of our beloved Turkish House.

Turkish House has become much more than a building. It is a cultural center and a home for our Turkish-American community - a place where we celebrate our traditions, preserve our heritage, and pass our culture on to the next generations.

Throughout the years, Turkish House has hosted music and choir gatherings, children’s programs, holiday celebrations, breakfasts and dinners, educational activities, business networking events, book and cultural programs, fundraising events, and community meetings. It has given our community a place to come together and keep our cultural traditions alive.

We are now facing a significant challenge: the recently proposed rent for Turkish House is more than double our current rent. This substantial increase requires us to carefully evaluate our options and determine how we can preserve the future of this important space.

For this reason, the ATA-NC Board is calling an Emergency Community Meeting:

 Turkish House at 303 E Durham Rd, Cary, NC 27513

Those who are not able to attend the in-person meeting can join us online via Zoom link.

We will discuss the proposed rent increase, our financial situation, possible lease negotiations, fundraising opportunities, and other options for preserving Turkish House.

Turkish House is more than a building; it is a place where our culture, traditions, and community can thrive.

We have a responsibility to consider how we can keep this cultural center available for our community and future generations.

Your input is very important, and we encourage all members, families, supporters, and friends to join us and share their ideas.
