ATA-NC Youth Group 2026-2027 Board Elections

About the Event:


Dear ATA-NC Members and Friends,


Registration for the ATA-NC Youth Group for the 2026–2027 term is now open.


The Youth Group’s mission is to empower high school students to grow as leaders, build meaningful friendships, and give back to the community through volunteer service. 


We encourage all students ages 13–18 (grades 9–12, including rising 9th graders) to apply and become part of this rewarding experience. Please also note that current Youth Group members must reapply to renew their membership for the 2026–2027 term.


All members are expected to commit to at least 10 active service hours during the program year.


Members of the ATA-NC Youth Group enjoy the following benefits:

  • Opportunities to volunteer and lead projects aligned with their interests

  • Access to a network of accomplished Turkish-American professionals

  • A supportive community of peers and future colleagues

  • Opportunities to collaborate with the ATAA Youth Committee and UN Relations

If your teen is interested in serving on the Youth Group Board, they must first complete the 2026–2027 Membership Application by Thursday, May 14, 2026. 


What’s next?


  2026–2027 Youth Group Board Elections:


  • Board elections for the 2026–2027 term will be held in person on May 16, 2026, from 2:00–3:30 PM at the Turkish House in Cary.

  • All Youth Group members who have completed the 2026–2027 Membership Application are eligible to run for a board position.

  • A self-nomination Google Form will be emailed only to members who have submitted their membership application. Please keep an eye on your email for further details about leadership opportunities.


 Save the Date:

We also hope to see many of you at our Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day celebration on May 17, taking place at Lake Crabtree County Park (White Oak Shelter) from 2:00–5:00 PM. More details will be shared soon!
