What are red lentils and bulgur?


If you are interested in expanding your culinary repertoire with select vegetarian dishes from the Turkish cuisine, join us for a cooking class followed by a social hour.


We take a practical approach and use widely available ingredients! Complimentary Turkish tea and coffee will be served but you are welcome to bring your own drink and/or wine.

Spring 2014 Schedule: 


A Taste of Turkish Kitchen

Tuesday, February 18, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Location: Whisk, Cary

Menu: Bride soup made with red lentils and bulgur, Tatziki, Round Pastry filled with spinach and cheese, Sambali – wet semolina cake with almonds


Turkish Cooking Class

Sunday, February 23, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Location: Carolina Turkish House, 743 East Franklin Street, Chapel Hill

Fee: $25 per person

Menu: Yogurt soup, Zucchini Casserole, Spinach/cheese filled pastry, Cheese rolls in olive oil, Meringues


Cooking with Little Hands (Special Cooking Class for Children ages 5-15)

Sunday, March 23, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Location: Turkish House, 303 E. Durham Rd. Suite F, Cary

Fee: $10 per person

Menu: Chick peas in tomato sauce, White Rice, Lentil kofte, Chocolate croissant


Meze Night

Tuesday, April 8, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Location: Turkish House, 303 E. Durham Rd. Suite F, Cary

Fee: $25 per person

Menu: Sesame rounds, Poached eggs in yogurt sauce, Turkish tabuli, Hummus, Feta cheese balls in olive oil, Sambali (Samolina cake with syrup)
