Echoes of Silk Road: Celebration of Turkish and Iranian Cultures Through Dance, Music and Food

Who: Live music by Latif Bolat, Burcu Karadağ, and Iranian band Saba. Iranian dance performance and poetry reading

We are proud to announce Echoes of Silk Road, a very special celebration of the Turkish and Iranian cultures co-sponsored by ATA-NC and the Iranian Cultural Society of NC. The event will take place in the Great Hall of the UNC Student Union building on Saturday, December 3.

 

In addition to a delicious menu comprised of both Turkish and Iranian dishes, the evening will also include live music (from saz virtuouso Latif Bolat, neyzen Burcu Karadag and Iranian band Saba), Iranian folk dances and a poetry reading in celebration of Shabe Yalda, the Iranian celebration of the winter solstice.
